ECBBA is a great program for adults and kids. Both of my girls go and love it. Sensei Jerry and his team really help these young kids battle bullying and self confidence issues. The kids have a blast at the same time!

It has taken me a couple days to review and process the awesome weekend we had with two extremely respected Sensei from Okinawa, Sadihiro Makino Sensei and Takeshi Tamaki Sensei, the longest Matsubayashi practitioner out of Grandmaster Nagamine’s Dojo.
Meeting them was, of course, an honor. Both Sensei’s were open, friendly, and willing to talk about anything. The in-workshop discussions and adjustments to Kata were enlightening as well as motivating. Sometimes we describe one move we all do, but we also emphasize another way to execute such a move to improve stability and/or balance. Much of the discussion and directions focused on kihon so as to strengthen all parts of our Katas, not just one action or movement.
Other concepts were discussed and helped reinforce things I have heard but need to refocus on. The use of balance, executing a move from the floor up, and maximizing hip and knee movements to create or maximize natural power Then other concepts were introduced that are still a bit over my head, and I will have to think about and meditate on them if I am to fully understand their meaning.
All in all, there was information for all levels to benefit from. Usually, when I go to a seminar, I hope for one or two bits of knowledge to work on. I found multiple concepts and ideas I need to reflect on. My mind is excited, but my soul is calm.
I have been told for a long time how I "need to relax" more. This weekend I got that message again, multiplied. Some old habits are hard to break, but I must break them if I am to grow. Wow, what a great, informative, very motivational, and rewarding weekend!
Thank you, Sensei Jerry and Sensei Rick, as well as Sensei Mike, Sensei Scott, Sensei Charlie, and others, for all your efforts in making this such a memorable weekend. Your efforts are appreciated!

The real deal 👊 I've been a journeyman martial artist since early childhood. Now, I'm in my mid-40s. I've had many teachers and studied in various systems on both sides of the country. I’ve been moving around and training different martial arts and movement practices my entire life, and Sensei Jerry has always been my favorite teacher. His style of Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu is the only style of martial arts that I’ve stuck with no matter where I go, and I believe that’s because ECBBA has one of the best instructors out there.
